At least a total of five passengers have perished in a road carnage while six others were severely injured after a Toyota Hiace taxi registration number UA 415AV collided with Nissan milk truck registration number UBL 615T at Kyalweza Village, Nakasongola District along Kampala–Gulu highway.

 

The Savannah Region police spokesman, Sam Twineamazina confirmed the nasty incident saying it occurred at around 8:30 pm on Sunday evening.

 

He attributed this shocking incident to the taxi driver, who was allegedly driving at a terrific speed moving towards Gulu from Kampala, whom he says lost control and collided head-on with the oncoming milk truck.

 

He revealed that the severely injured passengers were taken to Nakasongola Health centre IV and Kiryandongo Hospital for medical treatment. While the bodies of the deceased persons were bundled on a police truck and transported to Nakasongola Health center 1V for a postmortem, pending burial arrangements by the bereaved family members.
